Product Description

The Whiskey-3 Chassis (W3C) (Generation 5) is one of the premier chassis available for your bolt action precision rifle. The W3C combines precise aluminum bedding with tool-less adjustments, durability, and excellent ergonomics. Right out of the box it allows the use of AICS style magazines (not included) in your rifle without any special bottom metal. Numerous types of accessories can be added to the many attachment points, including handstops, sling mounts, rails, bipods, monopods, and more. Our modular grip panels allow the shooter to tailor the fit of the stock to his/her hand which, combined with the other adjustments, yield a stock set up exactly as it needs to be for that particular shooter.

The W3C Gen 5 is available as of December 2015 in fixed and folding stock versions for the following rifles:

  • Tikka T3 (non-magnum length calibers).
  • Remington 700 short and long action.
  • Badger M2008/13 short action (uses AICS or AI AW magazines).
  • Badger M2008 long action (AICS CIP length magazines).

The W3C (all gens) cannot, unfortunately, be made to fit these rifles:

  • Tikka T3 in long action calibers (there is currently no magazine which will work as the AICS magnum magazines will not work with the T3).
  • Tikka 595/695.
  • Sako 75/85.
  • Surgeon XL action.
  • Howa 1500.
  • AI AE.

Price:

  • Fixed $899 (Rem700 SA)
  • Folding $1299

Chassis systems purchased through Patriot Valley Arms come without additional CC fees.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Insurance on the package is at the buyer's discretion. The shipping insurance option will not be automatically added.  If a customer elects not to ship the action with insurance and something happens during transit Patriot Valley Arms will not assume any liability whatsoever.

The Whiskey-3 Chassis (W3C) (Generation 5 Chassis)

Forend:

  • Polymer, lightened by half a pound.
  • Threaded mounting holes at various positions, total of 15-20.
  • Access hole for action mounting screw, so you can remove the action without removing forend.
  • Side mounting options for rail, flush mount QD sling plate, external QD cup, etc on both sides of forend.

“Backbone”/Chassis:

  • V-bedding (Tikka) or Radius (Rem 700) system which is CNC'd into aluminum backbone for consistent contact between action and chassis.
  • Hardened stainless steel recoil lug instead of aluminum ones found on stock T3’s.
  • Rem 700 version can accommodate most large aftermarket recoil lugs like the Badger Ordnance lug without any or with only slight modification.
  • Designed for 5 or 10 round AICS magazines (with or without front spacer plate in T3, with spacer plate only in Rem 700 unless you have a modified action); Rem 700 LA now uses CIP length AICS magazines; Badger M2008 version uses AI AW 10round double stack magazines).
  • Will accept any barrel contour up to 1.25” straight cylinder. We recommend no larger than .9" at muzzle (i.e. Medium Palma/Remington Varmint contour) for weight and proper overall rifle balance.

Trigger Guard/Mag catch:

  • Similar in shape to TRG trigger guard but made of reinforced polymer instead of Delrin (Tikka T3 chassis uses aluminum triggerguard).
  • Will accept Barnard trigger for T3 as well as factory trigger.
  • Rem 700 version will accept the new x-mark triggers and most aftermarket triggers but some aftermarket triggers may require modifications to the trigger or chassis.
  • Mag catch is our new low profile version which reduces snags while still providing excellent ergonomics and control.

Magazines Used:

  • Remington 700 short action and Tikka T3 use AICS .308 mag in either 5 or 10 rd capacity. Accuracy International part numbers 3901 and 3902 respectively.
  • Remington 700 long action and Badger M2008/13 long action gen 5 uses AICS .338 CIP length magazines, AI part number 4808 (bend in feedlips to use with smaller cartidges like .300 WM).
  • Magazines are not included. We recommend actual Accuracy International magazines or those from Accurate Mag.

Folding Mechanism (not applicable for fixed stock):

  • Main latch uses proven tapered lever style lockup.
  • Secondary latch locks buttstock in folded position.
  • Spring loaded plungers lock automatically.
  • Tapered design of primary latch allows tight lockup through wear of the system.
  • Latch components made of hardened stainless steel and nitrided high strength chromoly steel.

Cheekpiece:

  • Infinitely adjustable within range (1” travel).
  • Cheekpiece can be quickly removed and re-installed, uses a clamp and thumbscrew design.
  • Includes a simple feature to make the cheekpiece return to the exact height you set it.
  • Cheekpiece can be moved forward and backward with several mounting positions.
  • Cheekpiece made of polymer to not transmit heat to or away from your face.

Length of Pull:

  • Adjustable in ¼” increments with 2” of adjustment range.
  • LOP range varies slightly between versions but is roughly 13.3” to 15.3”.
  • Uses cam lock and set screw to ensure a solid fit.

Buttstock:

  • CNC milled from billet aluminum.
  • Entire buttstock assembly can be used on a TRG if you should desire.

Buttpad:

  • Moves vertically to set positions within range.
  • Tool-less adjustable.
  • Buttpad is Remington 700 pattern so user can install aftermarket pre-fit pads.
  • Buttpad can tilt 15 degrees to each side (as if looking directly from the rear down the bore).

Mounting features for slings, monopods, etc:

  • Buttstock has QD sling cup on each side and provisions for other mounting options. Folding stock has one additional QD mount point built in.
  • Buttstock includes bag rider which can be replaced with included picatinny rail.
  • Harris bipod stud included on forend.
  • QD cups can be mounted on any number of positions on sides or bottom of forend.

Optional Accessories:

  • Large selection of accessories from sling mounts to tripod mounts.
  • ALL STOCKS COMES WITH ONE EACH MOE L2 and L3 RAIL.

Materials/Finishes:

  • Most aluminum parts are hard anodized (Type III).
  • All fasteners are stainless steel with black oxide coating.
  • Steel parts are salt bath nitrided or stainless steel.
  • Grip panels are injection molded reinforced polymer.

Weight:

  • Fixed version is ~ 3.8 lbs w/o magazine.
  • Folding version is ~ 4.1 lbs w/0 magazine.

Color:

  • Black only.

Price:

  • $899 fixed Rem 700SA, $939 fixed T3/Rem 700LA.
  • $1299 folding (All versions).

Changes to Gen II from Gen I:

  • Threaded mounting holes in forend in slightly different position, some are positioned to use the Magpul MOE L2 picatinny rail.
  • Trigger guard held on by two screws now instead of one screw and a tab.
  • No holes drilled in barrel channel on Gen II (vent holes).
  • Grip panels are injection molded reinforced polymer instead of cast polyurethane.
  • Cheek piece is wider, taller, and more comfortable, and also injection molded.
  • Bag rider/Butthook is injection molded and included with chassis instead of being optional accessory.
  • Set screw has been added to top of buttstock to lock down LOP system to eliminate any play.
  • Bottom of buttstock has been modified to accept Magpul MOE L3 rail instead of L1 rail for more mounting positions, also there are two additional M5 threaded mounting points on the buttstock for more mounting options.

Changes to Gen III from Gen II:

  • Will accept either our small grip panel option or our regular grip panels readily, whereas the Gen II stocks will require replacement of two metal components to accept the small grip panels.
  • Fixed stocks can no longer be upgraded to a folding stock after they are purchased.
  • Stocks which use a .308 sized AICS magazine now have a wider trigger guard which facilitates magazine insertion and the trigger guard has a larger opening for the trigger which means some aftermarket triggers will drop in with no modifications to the chassis.
  • Stocks have an alternate position for the QD mount point in the buttstock as well as some new mounting positions for other types of sling mounts.
  • Stocks have new forend mounting points that allow MOE rails and our flush mount QD sling plate to be mounted, and they retain the two hole NV mount of the Gen II.(These were included on later Rem 700 gen 2 stocks).
  • Length of pull adjustment levers moved to right side to remove possible interference with sling.
  • Access hole for front action screw is enlarged to allow easier access with a torque wrench (this also means the front action screw is no longer captured).
  • Weight for the fixed stock has dropped about 5oz to 4lb 10oz for Rem 700 version..
  • Forends have grooves to keep Harris bipods from twisting.
  • Front ends have mounting holes specifically meant for solid mounting of our new spigot mount.
  • Cost has increased slightly to $919 fixed $1289 folding.
  • Some other changes like slightly revised buttstock design.

Changes for Gen 4:

  • Additional mount point on side of forend to fit our sling loop (HK style loop)/QD mount.
  • Five main components of fixed buttstock consolidated into single part.
  • Single LOP cam with 180 degree rotation to locked position.
  • Moved lower spar leg forward on buttstock to avoid it hitting non-trigger hand during recoil.
  • Enlarged thumbshelf and the left side thumbshelf can now be used on the folding chassis.
  • Added QD mount point at hinge in folding chassis to sling when folded.
  • Simplified hinge mechanism in folding chassis.
  • Added clearance for more aftermarket triggers in Rem 700 chassis versions.
  • Weight has been decreased by several ounces on both folding and fixed.
  • Slight cost increase on both configurations to $939 fixed, $1299 folding.
  • Additional minor changes.

  • Forend changed to polymer, weight reduced and magazine well stop incorporated, additional mounting points added
  • Triggerguard changed to polymer on Remington versions
  • Mag release button changed to Polymer to reduce inertia
  • Aluminum backbone lightened
  • Additional fore/aft mounting points added to cheekpiece
  • Cheekpiece thumbscrew now captured and molded polymer
