The Osprey Barrel Works blanks are whirlwind successful in numerous match disciplines since 2021. In just 1 year on the market they have picked up PRS wins from local grassroots to national match events, NRA High Power events, and collected trophy game animals on 3 continents. The next step is adding what the hunting community is begging for: The Carbon Osprey.
Carbon Ospreys are a unique marriage of high longevity stainless steel, fully CNC machined from the solid bar to the ready to shoot prefit, with prepreg CFRP laminate. Our barrels can be cut down by any gunsmith to meet the client requirements. Each barrel has the option to come from PVA already cut to length, muzzle threaded and ready for chambering OR as a standard blank ready for any gunsmith to cut to length and fit the wear collar.
Our carbon blanks are among the market few who offer "cut to length" options for clients where they can change the barrel length and we offer a SS wear collar. This way the carbon laminate does not break down over time with the weight and whip of various muzzle devices on it.
Current options are:
- 224 1:7
- 243/6mm 1:7 with 237 bore (optimal for the high BC bullets with high speed varmint calibers)
- 257 1:7
- 264/6.5mm 1:7.5 and 1:7 (optimal for use from 120-155 class bullets with a broad range of chambers)
- 284/7mm 1:8
- 30 caliber 1:9 and 1:10
Contours are limited to the Carbon Competition currently.
The Carbon Competition is a full taper bull barrel at 0.99" muzzle diameter and weighs appx 3lb 4oz as a 26" unchambered blank.
We do not offer a multitude of contours because the weight of the barrel is largely unaffected due to the weight of the carbon being minimal. Custom carbon contours may be available upon special request, there will be an additional fee associated with a custom contour in carbon barrels.
