Product Description
Osprey AR15 drop ins are ready to go.
Options available are 18 and 20 inch finished lengths with 0.750" gas boss diameters. All barrels come standard with 5/8-24 muzzle threads. Barrels come with an alignment mark under the gas port for easy assembly.
As usual with all the Osprey pre-fits these are honed and lapped, double normalized (stress relieved) stainless and 100% CNC machined. For accuracy reasons we recommend clamp on style gas blocks, not set screw style. The gas port sizes are setup for optimal performance with unsuppressed systems. If using a suppressor it is recommended that an adjustable gas block or adjustable gas key be installed to aid in tuning the rifle system.
All gas systems in the ARC series are Rifle+2

Excellent accuracy / Almost no break-in required
This barrel arrived last week, and I had the opportunity to assemble it into an upper. The first thing I did was for form the break-in procedure for the new barrel by firing a few shots, and then cleaning, and then firing a few shots, and then cleaning the barrel. Interestingly, the barrel did not foul with copper at all during the break-in procedure. Prolonged soaking using Boretech CU+2 copper remover, after an initial scrubbing using C4 carbon remover, never yielded any copper on the patch in the forum of a blue coloring. That’s pretty amazing. Normally it takes a good 10 to 20 rounds for any barrel to stop having copper buildup during break-in. PVA Ospreys are right up there with Bartein in this specific metric. Last week, when I took the assembled rifle to the range, I was able to have a five shot group, which was one slightly enlarged 6 mm hole at 100 yards. This was shooting 108 factoryELDM with an average velocity of 2575 FPS. The barrel shot 105 HPBT horny black 6ARC just as well. I did purchase the barrel with the adjustable BCG as opposed to gas block. I found that I had to use one of the smaller adjustment screws as the long screws were never quite able to cycle the firearm. If you use a YHM clamp on gas block, PVA has kindly dimpled the bottom of the barrel so that you can line the gas block up without any issues. Honestly, the whole operation was insanely simple, and PVA made it a piece of cake with the manner in which they offer the barrels. I’m going to readjust the adjustable gas block to see if velocity gets slightly higher with a more careful adjustment. (I put the short screw in for the adjustable BCG and it just worked, but it needs to be properly calibrated according to the instructions.)
