The 6mm BR cartridge and its variants are legendary in the rifle competition world for their inherent accuracy, easy loading, long barrel life and low cost to shoot. The only hitch was making the cases feed and function in a repeater. Part of the problem is the ejection cycle but for those with actions that can handle the small case feeding them into the chamber is the next issue.
The Patriot Valley Arms magazine conversion kit offers shooters the option to use standard American Rifle Company 10 round magazines with new internal components. These kits take only the most modest of tools (a plastic or rubber mallet) and less than a minute of time to convert the magazines back and forth from full length 308 size cartridges to shortened 6 BR type rounds.
The Patriot Valley Arms kits feature anti-tilt legs on the fore and aft ends of the new follower, a guiding channel to keep the follower from "wandering" through the magazine body and rolling left to right during stacking. They also feature Patented DirtSwipe (TM) geometry to aid magazine reliability in dirty, dusty, or otherwise adverse conditions.
These kits are fully CNC machined from high lubricity plastic and feature heat treated, wound wire springs for a lifetime of use. The internal length change supports cases up to ~2.53-2.55" (mag bodies vary from part to part).
Updated: Aug 2019 - All ARC kits now include a flat spring that provides more reliable feeding.
